Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia, Latin for "New Scotland", joined the Canadian Confederation in 1867 and is situated on the southeast coast of Canada. The major economic centre of the region is its capital, Halifax. Although Nova Scotia is best known for its folk and traditional based music, the only full orchestra performing in Atlantic Canada is the Symphony Nova Scotia. A yearly multicultural festival is hosted by Halifax Regional Municipality due to the modern day mix of many cultures.
